Blazing Flame is a band built around the songs of Steve Day.
This is his fourth CD on Leo Records. The band consists of nine players:
Steve Day - voice, percussion, Julie Tippetts - voice, perc., Keith Tippett -
piano, Bill Bartlett - el.piano, organ, Aaron Standon - alto, soprano sax,
guitar, Dave Perry - tenor, bar. sax, bass clarinet, Peter Evans - violin,
Fiona Harvey - bass, voice, Anton Henley - drums, perc. Keith and
Julie Tippett bring to the Blazing Flame formidable presence and awareness.
Steve's poetry is in the 12-page booklet. Among these songs are the names of
several musicians — people like Cecil Taylor and Gil Scott-Heron.
